Early Childhood Education

We implement a very gentle curriculum which allows a child-led approach to early childhood education through stories, art and play.

Mostly our day is PLAY, but we implement 4-week modules with one central nature-based theme. View our themes here:

January - Snow & Hibernation

Art: Winter hues watercolor, snowflake stickers & stamps, etc

February - Love & Birth of Animal Life Cycle

Art: Valentine’s Day cards, paint wooden hearts, bake “life cycle” loaves, etc

March - Gardening & Plant life Cycle

Art: Decorate seed starter kits out of egg cartons, paint planters, etc

April - Conservation & Land Stewardship

Art: Recycled art sculptures, the “world” watercolor, nature mandala, etc

May - Weather

Art: Painting kites, decorating pinwheels, cotton ball cloud cubby tags, etc.

June - Animal Care

Art: Animal Paw print painting, bake “Dog biscuits,” create bird nest, etc

July - Physical Geography

Art: Desert silhouette watercolor, Rock painting, Cactus stickers, etc

August - Space & Cosmos

Art: Galaxy tye-dye shirts, TP roll telescopes, bake “Moon cakes,” etc

September - Outdoor Adventures

Art: Bake blueberry muffins for picnic, paint walking stick, crayon coloring of scavenger hunt in nature, etc

October - Death & Loss of the Animal Life Cycle

Art - Fossil excavation art, “pan de Muertos” Bread, skeleton stickers, watercolor paint spider web, etc

November - Seasonal Plant changes

Art - Fallen leaf stamps, leaf cookie-cutters in clay, paint pumpkins, etc

December - Winter Celebrations in the Community

Art - Bird Feeder, Bake “Sun Bread,” snowy landscape paint, etc
